Taylor and Dylan’s wedding at Rek-lis Brewing Company in Bethlehem, New Hampshire was one of those weddings I’ll never forget.

When I first pulled into the venue, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. As a New Hampshire wedding DJ, every new venue presents its own challenges. I’m always evaluating how guests will move through the space, how the music will travel, and how everything will flow throughout the day. Within just a few minutes, though, I realized Rek-lis Brewing was something special.

Unlike a traditional wedding venue with large ballrooms and wide open reception halls, Rek-lis Brewing has a unique charm all its own. Rustic fencing surrounds the property, outdoor fire pits invite guests to gather and relax, and the entire venue feels warm, welcoming, and laid back. Parking can be somewhat limited during busy restaurant hours, so couples planning a larger wedding may want to consider a shuttle service. Aside from that, the venue flows surprisingly well from one part of the celebration to the next.

Guests enter through the brewery where the main bar creates a lively atmosphere before making their way to the outdoor reception patio. Even though my main DJ setup was outside beneath an Easy-Up tent, I placed a wireless speaker inside near the bar so cocktail hour music followed guests naturally wherever they wandered. It’s one of those small details that most people never notice, but it helps create a seamless experience throughout the event.

The reception space was beautifully decorated with rustic wood accents that looked incredible once the uplighting came on. As daylight faded into the evening, the lighting transformed the patio into an inviting dance floor that perfectly matched the atmosphere of the venue.

The ceremony site may have been my favorite part of the entire property. A short walk down the stairs behind the patio leads to a beautiful wooded ceremony location featuring a decorated arbor surrounded by towering New Hampshire trees. It creates an intimate setting that feels peaceful, secluded, and incredibly picturesque.

Then came one of my favorite wedding moments of the entire season.

Just as it was time for the ring exchange, everyone realized the rings were missing.

At first, the guests thought it was part of the ceremony and everyone started laughing. It quickly became clear that the rings had actually been left behind in the bride’s purse back at the building. The ceremony paused while the best man sprinted back to retrieve them.

Rather than letting the silence become awkward, I quietly started playing the Jeopardy theme song through the ceremony speakers. The entire crowd burst into laughter. What could have been a stressful interruption instantly became one of the funniest moments of the entire day.

A few minutes later, the best man came running back with the rings. The second I saw him coming down the stairs, I switched the music to “Stayin’ Alive.” The timing couldn’t have worked out any better. The guests were laughing, the bride and groom were smiling from ear to ear, and even the officiant couldn’t stop laughing. It was one of those genuine moments that no one could have planned, yet it became a memory everyone will probably talk about for years.

After the ceremony, I transitioned everyone into cocktail hour before breaking down my ceremony sound system and preparing for the reception. One thing I genuinely enjoy at every wedding is walking around during cocktail hour and talking with guests about music. Asking what they’d love to hear later helps me understand the personality of the crowd, build connections, and make people feel comfortable before dancing even begins. After all, most people don’t want to dance in front of someone they feel is a complete stranger.

From the first dance until the final song, the energy never slowed down. Taylor and Dylan’s family and friends packed the dance floor all night long and made the reception an absolute blast.

The team at Rek-lis Brewing deserves a lot of credit as well. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, and easy to work with throughout the day. The bartenders kept the lines moving despite a busy crowd, and dinner was fantastic. Guests enjoyed steak tips, chicken, pasta, fresh salads, green beans, and all the little details that make a wedding meal memorable.

By the end of the evening, Taylor and Dylan told me the day had been even better than they ever imagined. Hearing words like that never gets old. Being trusted to provide the ceremony audio, cocktail hour music, reception entertainment, lighting, and master of ceremonies services for one of the biggest days in someone’s life is something I never take for granted.

Taylor and Dylan, thank you for allowing me to be part of your wedding day. It was truly an honor celebrating with you, and I wish you both a lifetime filled with laughter, adventure, and happiness.
