DJ Chillin McMillin – Trusted Experienced Wedding DJ in New Hampshire
People always say the music makes the night, and man, it’s true!
I’ve seen quiet crowds come alive after one good song.
I’ve also seen a wedding grind to a halt when the groom steals the mic to say something so inspirational that the entire room starts to cry.
That’s why I started DJ Chillin McMillin—You never know what the experience will bring, but I make sure I bring a damn good one!
Having a trusted experienced wedding DJ that can pivot for pretty much everything, really changes everything!
I’m not some big corporate entertainment company. I’m a local guy who grew up right here in New England. I’ve been doing this a long time—over 25 years, started right out of high school—and yeah, I’ve seen just about every kind of crowd you can imagine. From fancy ballroom weddings in Nashua and Portsmouth, to backyard parties in Amherst, to wild company events in Manchester. The one thing that stays the same is people just want to have a good time and want to let loose!
The story behind DJ Chillin McMillin
Back when I started, I didn’t have fancy gear. Just a couple speakers, an old mixer, and a pick up truck that rattled louder than my subs. I was still figuring out how to make people involuntarily move their bodies with music as my tool.
But every event taught me something. Like the time I played a wedding at a barn up in Hollis, NH and the power tripped mid-song. Instead of panicking, I grabbed my backup generator, and kicked everything off once again! They didn’t even care. That night, the bride came up after and said, “You made it the best part of the night.” That’s when it hit me—being a DJ isn’t about the songs, it’s about the moments.
There was another memorable moment of a wedding set up in the middle of the woods. It was beautiful, but the groomsmen were tasked to keep the generator fueled. Needless to say, they got caught up in the day and forgot. So right in the middle of the first dance, the music, power, everything shut off completely and had me wondering what happened. We pin pointed the issue, but the magic happened while I was fueling the generator myself… all the guests started singing the rest of the song in unison to finish their last dance.
And just as they finished up, we were back on, and honestly, I loved that it happened, and we finished up the rest of the evening and to this day, is one of the most memorable experiences as a Performing Wedding DJ.
Why couples call me a trusted experienced wedding DJ
You don’t get that title overnight. You get it by doing hundreds of weddings where things don’t always go as planned. The timeline runs late. The maid of honor loses her speech. Someone forgets to bring the unity candle. And while all that’s happening, I keep the flow smooth, the mood light, and the dance floor full. When it comes to weddings, it is so important to know how and when to pivot or adjust.
That’s why local couples keep coming back or sending their friends. And yeah, winning the Best of Greater Nashua Award three years in a row means a lot—not just because of the trophy, but because it’s voted by real people. People who had an amazing night. People who danced right up until the last note dropped.
Weddings – where it all started
Weddings are where I put my heart. It’s not just about pressing play. It’s knowing when to drop that first slow song. It’s reading a room that’s a mix of grandparents, teenagers, and that one uncle who thinks he’s the life of the party.
When couples hire me, they usually say they want the night to feel “fun but classy.” I spend time before the big day making sure I know exactly what they want—not some cookie-cutter playlist. I ask what songs make them feel like “them.” Sometimes it’s 80s pop, sometimes it’s country, sometimes it’s a remix only their college friends would get.
My job is to make the music match their story. After all, I am not one of those diva DJ’s, I provide a service. That service is to provide you a tailored experience to match your vision. It’s your once in a lifetime day, not mine – though I treat it as such. That’s what makes me a trusted experienced wedding DJ—not just the years, but the care.
If you’re planning a wedding in Nashua, Manchester, Concord, or anywhere around New England, I’ll bring the setup, the ceremony sound, and the timing. You don’t have to worry about any of it. I’ll make sure the day feels like you.
Corporate Events – music that builds morale
Corporate events are a whole different kind of party. You’ve got bosses, clients, coworkers—and nobody wants to be the first to dance. That’s where experience kicks in.
One of my favorite memories was a big tech company event at the DoubleTree in Manchester. Everyone was stiff, standing by the bar. I started with something light—some upbeat classic rock. Then I mixed in a throwback from the early 2000s. Suddenly, I decided to get out there and start dancing. Then the guy from accounting joined. Next thing you know, the CEO’s out there doing the worm. Music and energy is contagious!
Corporate events aren’t about just playing music. They’re about connection. The right mix keeps people talking, laughing, staying longer—and actually enjoying the night.
So whether it’s a holiday party, product launch, or employee celebration, I bring a balance between professional and fun. I show up early, set everything up clean, and keep it simple. When I leave, your staff will already be asking when you’re hiring me again.
Private Events – small gatherings, big energy
Private events hit different. They’re personal. Birthdays, anniversaries, retirement parties—those are the nights that stick in your memory. You know the ones. Where someone gets emotional during a toast, then everyone dances like kids again.
One time I did a backyard party in Hudson, NH for a 40th birthday. It wasn’t fancy—just a tent, a grill, and a bunch of friends. But man, that night was wild. We went from country to hip hop to old school rock, and everyone sang along like they were in a bar at closing time. That’s what I love about smaller events—no pressure, just pure joy – but I have brought the same energy to the larger events as well!
If you’re planning something like that, I bring everything you need: sound, mic, playlists, and a setup that fits your space. You don’t have to rent anything extra, and I don’t even need a table as I bring a custom booth that looks fantastic in the background of your wedding photos!
What makes a DJ trusted
It’s not just showing up with speakers. It’s being the calm one when things get weird. It’s knowing when to keep talking and when to shut up and let the music do its thing. It’s making your guests feel comfortable enough to dance.
Over the years, I’ve built connections with tons of local venues like Sky Meadow Country Club, The Birch Hill Farm, and Zorvino Vineyards. Having worked at these places means I already know the layouts, where the outlets are, how sound bounces in the room. That saves everyone stress on the big day.
I’m also big on communication. You’ll always deal directly with me, not some assistant or booking agent. I’ll answer your messages myself and walk you through the schedule so nothing gets missed.
I have seen it all, so if you even have questions outside of the DJ topic, I am here to help!
Local DJ for New Hampshire and beyond
I’m based in Nashua, New Hampshire, but I travel all over for events—Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine too. If you’re in Salem, Concord, or Portsmouth, I’m happy to drive out and set up. I like working local because it keeps things personal. I know the roads, the venues, the local vendors, and photographers.
If you want wedding inspiration, check out our Bride Help Pages Here.
They’ve featured some of the same venues and styles I’ve worked with, and you’ll probably recognize a few.
Why people keep booking me
People always say the same things after an event:
“You made it easy.”
“You read the crowd perfectly.”
“You felt like a friend, not a vendor.”
That’s what I aim for every time. My setup is clean, sound is crisp, and I don’t make it about me. I focus on the people—their energy, their vibe, their story.
When you’re hiring a DJ, you’re not just hiring someone to play music. You’re hiring someone to set the tone for one of the most important nights of your life. That’s why being a trusted experienced wedding DJ matters so much. You want someone who knows how to keep things running smooth, how to read the room, and how to keep people smiling all night long!
Pricing and what you get
Every event is a little different, but I keep my pricing fair and simple. You’ll always get:
- Professional sound system
- Wireless mics for speeches
- Clean setup (no messy cords everywhere)
- Custom playlists made just for your event
- Backup gear (because tech fails sometimes)
- Back up power so the entire system and event can keep running, even the lighting!
- Full-time DJ and MC service
I don’t charge hidden fees or travel surcharges within New England, unless it is truly a trip and might need a room. You’ll know the total before you book.
Awards and reviews
Like I said earlier, we’ve been honored to win the Best of Greater Nashua Award three years straight. That means real couples and local clients voted for us. It’s proof that what we’re doing works.
You can check out our reviews on Google and Facebook—they’re all from actual people. I never buy fake reviews. Genuine, and eager to be sure I am the best fit for your event.
Why this matters for local businesses too
If you run a venue, a photo booth company, or a local planner service, you already know how important teamwork is. I love working with other local businesses. It makes everything run smoother and helps everyone get more referrals. That’s the kind of local ecosystem that keeps New Hampshire’s wedding scene strong.
Ready to plan your event
If you’re getting married, planning a company event, or just throwing a big party, I’d love to talk. You can reach me at chillinmcmillin.com or shoot me a message on our Facebook page. We’ll chat, figure out your vibe, and make a plan that fits your budget and your night.
I’m not going to give you some sales pitch, and the events I take on are super selective as I want to be sure I am the perfect match – not just taking a job. I’ll just tell you what I do, what it costs, and what’s included. If it feels right, cool—let’s make your night one people talk about for years.
Looking forward to chatting!
